A 2018 report from mintel revealed that black women are most likely to wear their hair natural according to the data a whopping 40 percent of these women have turned to both chemical free and no heat styling while an additional 33 percent of black women still prefer heat styling but have cut out all chemicals. More precisely it is the west central africa which is most colonized and used for european and american slave markets. When you relax your hair its goes from being afro to straight but you have to continue to do it after brading it otherwise it ll break. You can straighten you hair however without heat and still get quality results and you can do it at home.
Black hair is literally different than all other hair. If it is natural not relaxed then it is alot harder to straighten and practically can t be straightened. I once asked in y a if a black person can grow a naturally straight hair and from the majority answers i. However in the world of many western people black is confined to negroid race that is mostly found in africa.
Both can damage the hair and with continued use can even cause hair loss. In almost all people s mind one person can not have natural straight hair if he or she is african. One thing that may be involved is. Most of the black people in the us are either descended from africans without straight hair or have received the non straight gene which seems dominant though i have no proof of that last bit.

Sure there are africans with straight hair and as a result there are black people with straight hair in other places too. It depends im black but i can get striaght hair easily beacuse i relax my hair. I understand that the majority of black people usually grow a type 3c or 4 kinky hair. Straight hair has long been considered more professional and less intimidating and black women with natural dos are still finding themselves rejected in jobs school and dating because they choose not to wear their hair straight.
