Can I Drink Coffee While Taking Metoprolol

Ok my question is is it ok to drink that much coffee with that metoprolol.
But today for the first time after a very long time almost 8 years i had around 3 cups of coffee about 16 ounces each. Hello i m 18 years old female. I can do without a lot of things but not coffee. Read more i did ask my doctor if the metoprolol could be the cause and he did not seem to think so it might be as brooke says that the lower heart rate makes them more noticeable my hr on metoprolol is in the 40s as my normal resting hr is about mid 50s.
I m just going to pace myself more with it now and not drink as much close together. So far spacing my cups of coffee farther apart and taking the metoprolol seems to be working well for me. It is therefore better to avoid the intake of caffeine containing foods and beverages while taking metoprolol. I take metoprolol and have given up drinks take care.
I have supraventricular tachycardia and i take metoprolol toprol 25xl everyday. So far so good. It s best to avoid alcohol while you re taking a beta blocker and if you do drink speak to your doctor if you notice any problems. It is generally not recommended to drink while being on metoprolol maybe occasionally a small drink would be acceptable however do talk to the doc pharmacist who prescribed the med for more details.
