Can I Drive 200 Miles On A Donut
Olivia Luz
Unfortunately i had to drive 200 miles every day and put 50000 miles in it.
The donut still made it home good donut. I just want to make sure i can get some break from taxes this year. This tire is smaller so it can be stored inside the vehicle and save space. While you can still drive over that distance i would recommend against it as it becomes exponentially less safe.
The biggest reason to use these space savers for a short period of time is because they have little to no tread. However given the situation and the likely lack of an open service station. Donut was still intact afterwards but as according to most manufactors recommendations. Most owners manuals have a recommended mileage for the donut tire with 50 to 70 miles being the average.
Didn t really answer the question. Also bear in mind that it s not a case of driving up to 69 miles and then using that mythical last mile to replace the donut with a regular tire. Just know that as a rule of thumb 70 miles is the maximum distance that you should be driving on your donut tire. Drove for work every day for around 200 miles i had to buy this new car in order to start this new job.

My spare tires all say do not use this spare over 100kms about 60 miles. I drove an 83 celebrity on the expressway with the speedometer buried in the dash for over 30 miles. Couldn t get a jag rim anywhere on short notice so i had to decide whether to drive 550 miles back home on a cracked rim or on a donut. It took me about 10 minutes to go that 30 miles.
The donut tire is intended to provide you with a means of transportation so you can get to the mechanic and have your tire changed as soon as possible. Those are designed for short distances of about a max of 50 miles.
