Another way to render your glass surfaces scratch free is to softly sand and buff them bright with a metal polish product. Rub the polish around on the glasses and wipe any excess off with a clean soft rag. If you have a scratch on your glasses try not to smudge it with your finger or your shirt.
Glass etching creams contain an active ingredient hydrofluoric acid which helps to remove the outer coating on the plastic and will buff away at the scratch. Try buffing the scratched plastic glasses with brass or silver polish and a soft rag. Repeat until the scratch is gone.
