The student can get in trouble for leaving after the bell if the teacher has expressly told you that you are not yet dismissed.
Need to share relevant information. Holding students after the bell is an acceptable punishment legally speaking. The circumstance and length of time would come into play here. On the other hand the teacher has no power to hold you after the final bell so you could get up and leave though that would be rather extreme.
Our last period class was held in for little reason it was barely a whole class kept in matter. Want to punish the entire class. Ideally a teacher and school bell should work in unison. Yes it s written in the geneva conventions punishment laws that you can t keep a student in the class after the bell rings as punishment if your teacher is doing this report her to the principal.
If the teacher is doing to deprive you of something else you may have a case but short of that you really don t. I didn t want to cause trouble so i waited but i wasn t going to wait until after 3 15 5 minutes after the bell because i did not want to miss my bus. However physical force cannot be used. I can t think of a school that would not have this policy. However if a teacher verbalizes his request for students to stay put before or even right after the bell rang he or she will still be within their right. A teacher can definitely keep students in class after the bell but they cannot force a student to miss lunch or be late for a school bus.
I think that a teacher can keep you after class for a valid reason i believe the only exception is if you are a bus student i imagine your teacher is trying to teach you a little bit about responsibility and respect why wouldn t you expect to tidy up your work area put away anything you may have used and leave the work area as you found it it is not the janitors job to assume your. It violates the geneva convention s laws on collective punishment.
