While it is true that pain under your ribs on the left hand side could be a sign of angina or another serious cardiac issue there are other reasons for pain under your left ribs.
The acid reflux occurs when an excess stomach acid is produced by your stomach and move up into your esophagus. Rib cage pain may be sharp dull or achy and felt at or below the chest or above the navel on either side. Sudden sharp stabbing pain in the left side under rib cage this pain can be a result of an injury or a broken rib cage.
There are many possible causes of upper left abdominal pain under the ribs including kidney infection broken ribs and pancreatitis. It causes a sharp stabbing pain that s usually felt on the left side of your rib cage. Pain under your left rib shouldn t be ignored as this area contains several organs including your stomach left kidney spleen and parts of your liver pancreas and bowel. At this time some sharp and sudden pains may come from having problems with the spleen.
