Stove Top Candied Yams From A Can

Mix brown sugar cinnamon and nutmeg together and sprinkle over yams.
In a large skillet melt the butter over medium high heat. Put all ingredients into a nice sized pot. Let the cooking liquid come to a boil. Reduce the heat to low cover with lid and allow to cook on low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Cut cup butter into tiny pieces and dot those around the top of the yams. Pour can of yams in a casserole or oven safe cookware. Reduce heat to a medium low stirring not to burn. Cook until nice and thick about 45 minutes.
