Can T Get Pool Pump To Prime

Open the filter air relief valve while the pump is trying to prime.
The number of steps that are required to prime a pump is mainly going to depend on the amount of water that s needed in the suction side of the lines as in the water that s entering from the pool to the pumping system. Btw just in case anybody doesn t know when your pool pump is running if you look down into the basket on the pump you should just see water you shouldn t see swirls or the water flowing in from the pipe it should look like the basket area is just full of water. In order for the pump to prime it needs a water supply which it pulls from the skimmer and a place to send it ie through your filter and back to the pool. Make sure that the basket is lined up with the internal grove and seated fully down into the pump basket pot area.
Basically after replacing my pool pump with a brand new 400 one i still want not getting my pool pump to fully prime. If you have a spa you can adjust the water flow to suck from the spa drain. To prime a pool pump one needs to first purge all of the air from the pool s pumping system before filling both the piping and the pump with water. Then turn the multi port valve on the pipes next to your pump to recirculate and turn the air valve on top of the filter counterclockwise.
Following these steps should have your pump up and running but if you have any of the above problems you can t seem to fix you may need to call a pool expert. Fill the pot with water screw on the lid and turn on the pump. If your pool pump won t prime that means that it is not able to relapse all of the air from the pump and is not moving water through it. This can be a problem because for your swimming pool to stay in tip top shape the pool pump has to prime.
