Slow Cooker Stuffed Peppers With Ground Beef

This recipe can also be made with ground chicken or turkey instead of ground beef. A jar of prepared spaghetti sauce or marinara sauce makes this dish particularly easy. Add the beef cut up bell pepper tops rice 1 cup of the marinara sauce onion salt garlic powder thyme and tarragon to a medium sized bowl. Prepare the dish and put everything in the slow cooker before you leave for work and you ll have dinner ready when you get home.
Place the reserved tops back onto each bell pepper. Mix ground beef tomatoes rice ketchup worcestershire sauce and black pepper together in a bowl. Stuff each green bell pepper with ground beef mixture. Arrange stuffed bell peppers in the crock of a slow cooker.
Stuff the peppers with the filling you just made. Uncover and top with remaining 1 2 cup cheese. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is cooked. Cover and cook on low heat for 3 4 hours or high for 2 3 hours or until the peppers are tender and the beef is cooked through.
