I just saw this on a tv show. You can use evaporated milk as a straightforward one to one replacement for the whipping cream in most but not all recipes. I have a litre of whipping cream in the fridge that i really need to use up. So if you like the cheddar orange appearance heavy cream will look more a white cheddar.
