Bed bugs are some of the greatest hitchhikers in the world. While rare they can also live in your car which gives them easy access to anything you transport and every place you go including your home. They can bite you and your passengers and attach themselves to your belongings. Although rare yes bed bugs can live in your car.
Exposure to at least 120 degrees will kill them in a matter of minutes and 180 degrees or more will kill them on contact. This means they can enter your car on a bag in some washing on another person s clothes or even with your suitcases. The last thing anyone needs is to be stuck at a red light being munched on by bed bugs out of nowhere. They can cling onto virtually any fabric and because they are so small is easy not to notice them.
Bed bugs will travel from a hotel room you used during your vacation to your house. They are unlikely to crawl that far from a sleeping area by themselves. Bed bugs can get into your car if they get onto your clothes furniture bags or other items that you bring into your car. In fact bed bugs don t really get to the car because they want to hide there.
